First Time Coming to Whitestone, New York – Did You Know?

YESTERDAY
Limestone that was found on the shore of the river caused Dutch settlers to name the town Whitestone, according to popular tradition. An English raid during the Revolutionary War also occurred here. Lewis’ wife was taken prisoner and the house was burned to the ground.
